Alt PNT
Positioning, navigation and timing that survives GPS denial, degradation and spoofing.
What it is
A receiver that cannot trust the satellite signal has three problems at once. It does not know where it is. It does not know what time it is. And it has no independent way to tell whether the signal it is being handed is real. Alt PNT answers all three from inside the platform, using a reference nobody outside it can reach, drown or imitate.
Our approach is a chip-scale quantum sensor: an atomic reference small enough and rugged enough to sit inside the system that needs it, rather than in a rack the system has to be built around. The physics has been demonstrated for decades. What has not been solved is making the part repeatably, qualifying it, and handing an integrator something they can design around without becoming a physicist first.
Example applications
- Spoofing detection
- A platform that carries its own time can compare what it is being told against what it already knows, and notice a signal that is lying to it.
- Jam resistance
- When the signal is drowned rather than faked, navigation continues, because the reference the platform depends on was never the signal in the first place.
- Assured navigation
- Navigation that degrades gracefully instead of dropping out, across a whole mission rather than only where coverage happens to be good.
